HEAVY Soundclips

Take a listen to some quick clips here of the Scorpio 40W Head with matching 4x12 cabinet. These are geared a little bit more to the heavy side of things, but still have some great versatile tones. One is a "Full Mix" and the other is "Guitars Only". Settings as follow:

  • Depth: 8 o'clock
  • Presence: 2 o'clock
  • Master Vol: 9 o'clock
  • Bass: 11 o'clock
  • Middle: 10 o'clock
  • Treble: 3 o'clock
  • Gain: 2 oclock (heavy gtrs), 8 o'clock (clean guitars)

 

Guitars: PRS McCarty for the heavy parts, Fender Strat for clean parts
Veteran 30 speaker mic'd slightly off-axis with a Shure SM57 for all parts.
TC Electronic Flashback Delay in the loop on clean parts. No post-EQ on guitars at all. L1 Limiter used to bring up final volumes in ProTools.

BLUES Soundclips

Take a listen to some quick clips here of the Scorpio 20W Head with 4x12 cabinet. These are geared a little bit more to the blues/pushed clean side of things, but still have some great versatile tones. One is a "Full Mix" and the other is "Guitars Only". Settings as follow:

  • Depth: 10 o'clock
  • Presence: 3 o'clock
  • Master Vol: 11 o'clock
  • Bass: 11 o'clock
  • Middle: 3 o'clock
  • Treble: 1 o'clock
  • Gain: 10 oclock (solo gtr), 8 o'clock (clean guitars)

 

Guitars: Fender Strat for all parts, played by Max McKee (out with Josh Gracin/Casey James)
Veteran 30 speaker mic'd slightly off-axis with a Shure SM57 for all parts.
No post-EQ on guitars at all. L1 Limiter used to bring up final volumes in ProTools.
